"Some saw the quick cessation of the attacks, after their arrest, as proof positive of their guilt. I heard rumblings that this was enough for some to want to skip the trial entirely. But aren't we forgetting something? Every American has the right to a fair trial. To deny even the most 'batshit psycho' this right would be abandoning the ideals that we're trying so desperately to preserve."
